Cruel Summer is all about a relationship breakup, it's the feelings and emotions felt in the oppresive summer heat, that first summer of being alone once more. The monochrome of the artwork depicts the loneliness and isolation felt, the fact that the city feels crowded yet you are so alone, while the colour represents hope and optimism for the future ahead.
